I is for Intention (Primary)

I’ve been meaning to…

Intentions are a lovely way to guide us through our days. Intentions are what matters to us most, not goals or things we want to achieve, more an aim, a purpose or an attitude we want to cultivate in ourselves.

Fun things to practice

Here are some simple ways to set intentions and use them as we move through our days:

1. When you wake up in the morning, the first thing you can do is set an intention for the day! Open your eyes, stretch, take three big deep breaths & ask yourself - what matters most to me today? Do I want to be focussed, stay strong or perhaps be kind? Use this intention to get your day off to a great start

2. Sometimes when we go through our days, things don’t go to plan! When this happens we can check in with our intention for the day & we can check in with ourselves. We can even check our very own personal weather! Just like looking out the window & noticing if it’s sunny or windy, overcast or bright, we can ask ourselves - what’s our own personal weather like today? How about draw your own weather report! At the end of the day check to see if your weather is the same or has it changed? It really helps us when we notice that things don’t stay the same

3. Finally, each day, check in with your family, your friends and notice what matters most to them too, how their days are going! Notice how we’re all different & sometimes good things happen, sometimes we find things difficult. Notice how we can still go back to our intentions for the day and remind ourselves what’s important to us, what matters most
